Vintage Guitars in Modern Rock and Metal Styles

Nomen est omen after all. The fact that someone with the word “iron” in their name plays in a band called “The Krupps” is a strange coincidence – but somehow fitting. Incidentally, the band, which calls its sound “metal machine music”, has been around longer than its guitarist, namely since 1980.
Nils Finkeisen was born in 1982 and has been the youngest band member on board and has been on tour with the legendary industrial metal combo since 2015. It was always allowed to be loud for the young savage with a penchant for casual, punky Rumpelstiltskin hairstyles.

At the Denmark Guitar Show Nils is explaining why he has become an addict for vintage guitars, how he manages to use old Telecasters and Les Pauls and make them fit into modern rock and metal styles.

Marco Wriedt

Marco Wriedt, Søndag

Pink Cream 69, Ex-Axxis, 21 Octayne guitarist and Paul Reed Smith Guitars Artist Marco Wriedt started playing guitar and took first lessons at the age of 10. After playing in school bands as a teenager, he became a professional musician at only 19 years of age when going on tour with Jeff Scott Soto (Ex-Journey, Yngwie Malmsteen) and the Los Angeles based, two-time surf world-champion Pop singer Daize Shayne. In 2007, he reached the next step in joining the Rock band AXXIS. Marco played all over Europe with AXXIS, including shows at high-profile Rock festivals such as Wacken, Masters of Rock, Rock Of Ages, Loreley or Sweden Rock. Top 40 Mainstream chart entries followed.

Marco Wriedt was featured in major guitar magazines (Guitar, Guitar UK and Gitarre & Bass) and played numerous times at Frankfurt Musikmesse, Guitar Summit, the NAMM Show in California and at other well known guitar events all over Europe. In 2010 he also formed his own band “21Octayne” . 21 Octayne released three records worldwide via AFM-Records: “Into The Open” (2014), “2.0” (2015) and “Addicted to Thrill” (2016) His goal as a guitar player is to combine a melodic soulfoul playing style with a diverse technique. Some of his influences are: John Petrucci, John Mc Laughlin, Neal Schon, Steve Lukather, Brian May and Steve Howe.

His debut solo album “Guitar Stories” was released in January 2024.

At his clinic on this year’s Guitar Show Denmark he will go through various concepts of Rhythm and Lead Guitar playing based on songs by his band „21 Octayne“.
